Kitamani Restaurant

Last week, my family and I went to break fast in this really nice restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere and environment as you can see in the pictures. The food was great too. They mainly served indonesian food and they sure have a huge variety. I particularly liked the "tahur telur" or tofu egg(direct translation). They also served fried squid, crayfish, sweet and sour fish, gado-gado, ice cream and the deserts were absolutely sinful.

I do hope to go to such restaurants with my friends but the price is just too expensive. At first, we had a 20% discount so I thought we saved quite a lot. But I soon felt like we were cheated with the 7% GST and 10% service charge. The price discount was practically hardly noticeable. But still, the service was good as they provided a radio to know when we could break fast, dates and a prayer room for us to pray after we eat. So I am not really complaining.

Anyway, after that we went to tangs because my mom wanted me to buy a new watch. It was so tempting to agree to my mom who wanted me to buy the chronotech or dkny watch which costs close to $400 each. Haizz... but I know better than to take advantage of my mom. SO at the end I decided to buy a more affordable fossil watch when I have the money. Yes, you heard me right, I will be using my own money! I realized that I don't really need a watch while I'm in army. LOL, anyway, I had a great time with my family. It was nice going out with them once in a while and just talk about such random things... Haha...

AHM 08

Ran the Army half marathon 2008 last last weekend LOL. Sure a lot of people. Mostly NSFs... haizz... It was always quite difficult to run as most of the people were walking. Hehe.. that's what you get when NSFs are forced to run i guess...lol

Anyway, by the end of it I was very lucky to get the shirt. Woohoo... and the goodie bag! Okay the goodie bag wasn't that good but the freebies were. They gave out 100plus, magazines, free massages, ice cream and a whole lot of other stuff... It was really fun. It reminded me of a carnival despite the muddy ground. Anyway, I had a fun time "walking" with my colleagues. Haha they were too lazy to run as most of them were gonna ORD soon.

The front of the shirt

Oh yeah, I also bought a new bag after the AHM, and I really love it. I think it looks uber cool, plus it has many compartments. And the material feels good. But most important of all the brand is NIKE. LOL.... I feel quite dumb for spending 80-90 bucks for a bag with a red tick but I don't care anymore. All I care that it makes me happy and that is most important.

Okay, here are the books I need to finish before I ORD. It may seem alot but seriously I can finish it by the time I come back from Australia. Believe me, I have more than enough time especially during outfield. Plus, it is fasting month. Nothing better to do besides sleeping of course. LOL

Oh yeah, this was what I bought for my sis birthday. She really liked it because she thinks it's cute. But I thinks it looks damn cool with it's colour. Plus it's super small ( it can fit my palm) and it is super light( It weighs just a little bit more than my handphone). And it can go freaking loud. The speakers can fill my entire room when I put it to max volume. Now that is what you call "Mighty Mouse".

Hitchhiking

Nothing much this week... A few lessons about RP. PT in the morning and drills in the afternoon. Oh yeah, we booked out to run 14km at east coast last wednesday. Even that was nothing much, just ran with a better scenery and environment with the cool breeze against you. Quite enjoyable actually. But still, nothing much... We went back camp as soon as we ran finish.

Well, after I booked out camp I straight away went to novena for Race 6 organized by NUS. Well, it was like amazing race actually. LOL, we were the 4th team to be eliminated. Haha, don't know whether to be happy or not because we got eliminated quite fast. I really got to apologise to wq and the rest of my team members nury and julitta for not being more pro active, but I was really shacked after a tiring week at camp. But it was fun, I got a new t-shirt, I got to fish again!!(WTH!), met new people and I got to do route marching...LOL. So it wasn't so bad except for the part of fact that we had to hitchhike.

I was very skeptical of the idea of hitchhiking. And yeah I was partly right as it was very difficult for our team to hitchhike a car. And I don't blame Singaporean drivers for being selfish as I know with the price of oil increasing exponentially it isn't easy for someone just to pick up four strangers and bring us a very great distance which is very much out of their way. Even so, it doesn't really mean they have spaces enough for us to hitchhike. Imagine 4 people and 1 very big bag..LOL

But still, I still count ourselves very lucky as to get to hitchhike 3 lorries, and 3 cars. I find that it was a great achievement for our team even though we lost lol... and it kind of changed my mentality as there are still a few kind souls in Singapore..

Well, I had fun... but i was seriously shacked out by the end of it... Really sorry my teammates! I just felt like I let them down.

The Dark Knight

First of all, I just have to say this!! WOAH!! The dark knight was a really good show!! Seriously, It is really good if you like action, suspense, mystery and superheroes in costumes. But even if you don't, you might start to.I watched this last friday after book out and I have to admit, this is the best film of superheroes to ever come out!

Plot: The plot was very much intriguing. You will always be eagerly anticipating the next scene as to what is gonna happen as it is totally unpredictable and exciting at the same time. It is very much like a mesh between thriller and mystery. Something very new and different.
9/10 stars

Music: The music was really good. When the action starts or whenever the climax was gonna happen there are always this up-tempo music you will hear in the background as to get you really excited.
8/10stars

Cast and Characters: A strong cast including Christian Bale as Batman, Heath Ledger as Joker, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman etc... But hands down goes to Heath Ledger for his superb acting. He gave me the shivers and goosebumps whenever Joker appeared as you can never expect what he is gonna do. His acting will make this movie legendary.
9/10

Design: You have got to admit when you think about design the first thing that comes in my mind would be the automobiles and not too shabby I would have to say. The batmobile was of course ever so gorgeous but the batcycle was out of this world! Besides vehicles, the costume design on batman and joker was magnificent. The batsuit looks cool as always but the Joker's costume really reflects him as a person. Bravo!
10/10

Filming: The action scenes were splendid and the stunts - jaw dropping. A stunt man even died in the process of the film. What do you have to say about that? The shooting locations were also just awesome.
8/10

Overall it was a great film. Great mystery and a suspense thriller. This film achieved it's goal to potray batman as a detective and that it really isn't just about a simple fight between good and evil. Simply splendid. Well done.
Final Verdict: 8.8/10

Btw, my mom bought for our family the great Fujifilm Finepix F100FD. Really nice Digicam!! WOOT!!!

at Tekong

This week, we went to Pulau Tekong for our stage 1 evaluation against 3sir. My convoy's objective was simple: "Go the specified route and just die. If we reach our destination then they must be stupid and should just shoot themselves." That was what I was told anyway.

During the actual fight, our convoy stopped when we engaged with the enemy. Then my officer ordered for my gunner and me to dismount and practically flank them. I was like " WTH!" So me and Jiebin dismounted the 6kg gun and bashed through thick forest only to find out our gun didn't work. So we retreated back to our vehicle and were suddenly attacked by enemy from a hill to our right. I wish I did not report what I saw to my officer as he told us to clear the top of the hill. Again I was like "WTH!"So me, Frois and JB went up the hill to find out that there was a platoon waiting for us there.. LOL After intense fighting, the umpire declared all of us dead.
Phew... If every stage 1 was like this, I think there won't be a difference between stage 1 and 2 anymore.

Anyway, after that we had to sleep overnight at the training shed near the jetty. I was kind of bored that night, so I went around bmtc school 2 to find my friends. Lol.. Guess who I met up with?? Swee Siang and Saifuddin! They were in the same company. Haha... it was nice catching up with them and seeing their botak heads.. LOL

After that, I called Jon and two other guys from sispec, nazrul and Idaly. Had a fun nice long talk with them. Haha, they always make me laugh. Just so happens that Nazrul is the section commander of the guy who recently died in bmt. WTH!!!

Well it was nice meeting up with my friends but I had only time to meet up with them for 1 night. As I said my goodbyes to all of them, I realized how fun going through sispec with your friends is... LOL.. Till this day I never did regret putting yes to command school.
