Kuala Lumpur Dec 2008

I thought it would be nice if to post some pictures from my recent trip to KL with my family.

Here was where we had our dinner. Actually, not here exactly, but somewhere nearby. They sell really nice and cheap seafood at the restaurant around here. I wonder why? LOL

This is the view we had from our apartment. Yeah, it's a damn nice view since it's freaking 35 storeys high. We traveled cheap this year, so we kind of lived in my godparent's apartments.

This was a new shopping centre we went to. Its called 1 Utama shopping centre. It's about 30 min ride from our apartment so yeah, it's quite far. There is nothing much except that it is freaking huge!! I think it might be twice as big as vivo city.

Can you believe that this store only sells chocolates? They sell about $50 for just a few 100 grams!!

And for the finale, here is me acting silly in front of KLCC. All in all, the trip was nice. Not much different but still nice.

Financial Planning lol

Not sure why, but I have been racking my brains out to plan on a whole line of gadgets I would like to buy. I think it's mainly because ever since I have been in army, I never had a reason to buy any of them. Now that my ORD is arriving, I finally have enough reason to buy some, Yeah! Never thought that army would teach me to appreciate gadgets.

I know I already have a wishlist, but I think it would also be good to post my budget or my expected spending. Let's see.....

Portable DVD player - $300
Mp3 player - $400
Handphone(w/ plan) - $400
Wallet - $100
Sunglasses - $200
Watch -$200
Mag Subscription - $100

That should amount to
..............
............................
.....................................

$1700.

.... Holy Shit!! Where am I gonna get that kind of money?? Haha... I think I really have too much time to be researching all this lol.

Anyway, I have been playing lan with my army mates this weekend and a surprise invite from saifuddin, razali, juz and hasannah. Lol, it was fun catching up with them, apparently razali will be enlisting this thursday to pulau tekong. Haha... good luck to him!

OFF and Leave

Okay, good new and bad news. The good news is that I have about 20 offs and leaves, Woohoo! The bad news is there is something on at camp every single week in dec except for the last week, of course. So... I cant clear it all in one shot. I have been clearing my offs this week. Not doing much, just kept myself busy playing games and driving my mom.

Talking about my driving, MINE is TERRIBLE!!! I think I counted mounting kerb twice this week. And my parking always very "senget" (slant), never straight one. Dont get me started on parallel parking!

Haha... anyway, I have been doing a lot of research on handphones and mp3s to prepare for my ORD. HAHAHA(ORD LOR!). Anyway, I have been thinking of whether to get an iphone + sony mp3 combo OR Sony ericsson G705 + Ipod Touch. Yeah, I know... I know... I wanted an N95 before, but I realized it is way too bulky. And it is sooo outdated. LOL I sound so materialistic.

Oh yeah, and I dunno why, but I have been listening to alot of the 60s music. Dun ask me why.

Anyway, I will try to update my schedule of offs and leave on my sidebar... See how...

Australia Oct 08

I have become too lazy to write anything from now onwards so I'll just post pics and write comments. It's a hell lot easier than thinking of what I would like to type. Anyway, I felt my trip to Australia was not bad. The RnR was quite boring as the shopping malls were quite small and nothing interesting. But the zoo was unexpectedly quite fun even though we just stayed there for one hour, we were rushing for time to take pictures with the animals.

Rockhampton Airport

Quite small, nothing much. But the strictness of checking was hell. They checked our equipments to the last grain of sand and string. We waited for like 3 to 4 hours in this bloody airport because of all the checks.

Zoo

The pony's tongue was so slimy. Haha

Look! The kangaroo is looking at the camera!

Koala is so cute!

RnR at shopping malls

The locals there were mostly very friendly,
they gladly obliged to take photos with us.

Airport Again.

Finally, this is my platoon. GO Weapon Platoon! Haha.. This marked the end of our trip. It was really an eye opener to a different environment. I am glad I managed to gain this experience but I am soooo freaking happy I am back in Singapore! I miss Home like hell!

A "High" Sensation

Okay, my family and I went to my mom's friend new house and guess how high it was?? We are talking about freaking "34!!" storeys high. And that isn't even the highest(the highest is 40). The lifts had to be grouped to 2 sections, 1 goes up to 20 while the other goes from 21 to 40. Holy ****, I could feel the pressure on my ear drums as the lifts went up. And as I looked down, my knees started shaking and I felt a wee bit dizzy. lol. But I do have to admit the view was spectacular, this flat made the other flats like little children. Haha... This is by far the most interesting hari raya visit...lol

Cutting Back

I am refering to the news article today on the straits time, "Middle class cuts back on extras". The article mainly gave examples on how the different types of families over Singapore are cutting back on luxury items.

It just hit me that the main reason I am not feeling the pinch is mainly because I am in army and the food are all being catered for, transport isn't much problem since I usually use public transport and I rarely have much time to spend since I usually sleep at home during weekends. lol

I guess I really should start to spend my money wisely from now on since I will be ORDing in march. Just to get me prepared back to the civilian world. Woohoo. 5 months to go!

Cheers!

Kitamani Restaurant

Last week, my family and I went to break fast in this really nice restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere and environment as you can see in the pictures. The food was great too. They mainly served indonesian food and they sure have a huge variety. I particularly liked the "tahur telur" or tofu egg(direct translation). They also served fried squid, crayfish, sweet and sour fish, gado-gado, ice cream and the deserts were absolutely sinful.

I do hope to go to such restaurants with my friends but the price is just too expensive. At first, we had a 20% discount so I thought we saved quite a lot. But I soon felt like we were cheated with the 7% GST and 10% service charge. The price discount was practically hardly noticeable. But still, the service was good as they provided a radio to know when we could break fast, dates and a prayer room for us to pray after we eat. So I am not really complaining.

Anyway, after that we went to tangs because my mom wanted me to buy a new watch. It was so tempting to agree to my mom who wanted me to buy the chronotech or dkny watch which costs close to $400 each. Haizz... but I know better than to take advantage of my mom. SO at the end I decided to buy a more affordable fossil watch when I have the money. Yes, you heard me right, I will be using my own money! I realized that I don't really need a watch while I'm in army. LOL, anyway, I had a great time with my family. It was nice going out with them once in a while and just talk about such random things... Haha...
