at Tekong

This week, we went to Pulau Tekong for our stage 1 evaluation against 3sir. My convoy's objective was simple: "Go the specified route and just die. If we reach our destination then they must be stupid and should just shoot themselves." That was what I was told anyway.

During the actual fight, our convoy stopped when we engaged with the enemy. Then my officer ordered for my gunner and me to dismount and practically flank them. I was like " WTH!" So me and Jiebin dismounted the 6kg gun and bashed through thick forest only to find out our gun didn't work. So we retreated back to our vehicle and were suddenly attacked by enemy from a hill to our right. I wish I did not report what I saw to my officer as he told us to clear the top of the hill. Again I was like "WTH!"So me, Frois and JB went up the hill to find out that there was a platoon waiting for us there.. LOL After intense fighting, the umpire declared all of us dead.
Phew... If every stage 1 was like this, I think there won't be a difference between stage 1 and 2 anymore.

Anyway, after that we had to sleep overnight at the training shed near the jetty. I was kind of bored that night, so I went around bmtc school 2 to find my friends. Lol.. Guess who I met up with?? Swee Siang and Saifuddin! They were in the same company. Haha... it was nice catching up with them and seeing their botak heads.. LOL

After that, I called Jon and two other guys from sispec, nazrul and Idaly. Had a fun nice long talk with them. Haha, they always make me laugh. Just so happens that Nazrul is the section commander of the guy who recently died in bmt. WTH!!!

Well it was nice meeting up with my friends but I had only time to meet up with them for 1 night. As I said my goodbyes to all of them, I realized how fun going through sispec with your friends is... LOL.. Till this day I never did regret putting yes to command school.

A Relaxing Week.....

Well, after tuesday, the rest of the days were quite slack. OC suddenly wanted to go fishing with the commanders on thursday and we were like ".....". So random...lol. Well, after pt training we straight away book out that thursday and went to pasir ris to fish. There, to fish, super damn EX!!! 38 bucks to fish and rental of rod was 10 bucks!! So effectively we had to pay abt 50 bucks. Haha, the sergeants just watched oc, staff jo, and the officers, fish. It was not until 2lt michael caught a fish that sufiyan and fadhil suddenly wanted to fish. So me, sufiyan, fadhil, frois, leon and shalihin pooled our money together to fish. Haha, it was a funny sight to see 6 ppl sharing a rod. What was even more funnier was seeing us throwing the line lol... Mine was not bad, but it was not far. I think shalihin's line got stuck up on a tree... haha.... Although we did not catch any fish, I realized fishing was not bad. I mean, it was kind of boring but the scenery was nice and the environment was quite windy, perfect place for a picnic..lol... So i had a really relaxing time with my friends...

After 2pm or so, for our so called nights off(lol so early, i think can call it afternoon off), we left for orchard to watch Hancock. It was nice but I think it's not worth the money...lol.. We walked around orchard after that... Haha.. it was funny walking around town with army friends... they tend to look at the people more than the things in town. Haha... A couple of times my group was led blindlessly by mak, our CQ, just to realize that he was leading us to follow some girl... so we walk in circle quite a number of times... HAHA

Then on friday, after booking out at 2pm, we watched red cliff. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the movie. It was well worth it as it was funny at times and intriguing at other times. LOL.. Well, that's it... Really enjoyable week.... I hope for more weeks like these but I don't think I am gonna get my wish... haha.. Stage 1 evaluation coming this week at tekong..LOL

ATP SHOOT

Well, I had my ATP shoot last monday and tuesday. I'm glad it's over. For the benefit of those who don't know what ATP shoot is.... It is just like a shooting test that is supposed to be held every year, and it is a requirement for you to pass it. Don't ask me what it stands for.. I really have no idea, I usually call it range.

Anyway, my ATP shoot was quite bad. I had to reshoot a couple of times. Maybe because I didn't zero my weapon properly? (Zeroing= Calibrating the shot to where u aim) I was always able to fire the fig. 12 but never the fig. 15(smaller target). Anyway, it was not until Leon, Frois and Sufiyan told me that I was too "kan chiong" that I realized what was wrong with my shooting. Haha, I don't know why, no matter how many times I handle live rounds, I still shiver whenever I try to fire one. Oh well... that just shows I am soooo not suited for the army.... Yeah!

Thailand June 08

Hey!! I am back from Thailand and I got to admit it, it was one helluva trip. Haha.. well as you can see.. I don't really have much photos, most of them were taken by wq, wt and pat (hint: pls send them asap). BUT.... I do have videos!! Haha.. The videos crack me up every single time I watch it.. Haha








Okay, the video show our first room, lol wq didnt like it so we changed to another room. LOL. For 20 bucks a night, I am not really complaining


Haha... This was the time we entered the grand palace. Wting and pat stubbornly wore shorts even though we were told not to. So they had to wear like this traditional sarongs... LOL In turn, it was actually quite nice, something different you know? Anyway, I had a good laugh then.


I took this video when we were walking around Chatuchat (Weekend Market). They were selling crocodile heads(not sure whether they were real or not). But then, nearby.... There were people selling fried insects, maggots and all those gross stuff, I was tempted to try, but I didnt know if they were halal. HAHA

Haha... So sorry for the late post... Got some technical issues with the videos. Even now, I dunno whether they work... LOL...

Freak!!! I spent almost half of my pay on games this month. Plus, I will be going bangkok this saturday!?! I have spent by far, the most this month. Hmm... maybe because I am just depressed... It's okay, gotta look on the bright side, yeah? Thankfully, finding buyers for games aren't that difficult since u don't really need a warranty and games usually don't have any maintenance issues. So yeah, most probably I will sell most of my games once I come back from bangkok.

Anyway, really looking forward to bangkok because it will be my very first official trip with tcsss. Hahaha, it's like chalet all over again, but with a lot of shopping :) and sightseeing, and don't forget the massages. Really excited coz the things there are supposedly really cheap. I hope I get to find a new bag, watch and some new clothes. Really looking forward to it. I will update some photos as soon as I get back next wednesday....

Pre-Summex Thoughts

Oh my god! Tomorrow is SUMMEX! FYI, summex is just a codename for my 3 day 2 night field camp. There is gonna be 5 missions in the whole of summex. So i can predict we are not gonna have enough sleep. The only thing I can look forward to... is that I would be able to spend more time with the man in my section. They are really funny and easy to talk to. Some of them were from established jc with outstanding A level results while some dun even have o level cert. And I realized these people are not any different from us... They want the same things in life and they are not really stupid... just that some of them just fall out due to their own unique problems.

Anyway, I will be coming back camp this friday. This saturday will be the end of training wing(It's about damn bloody time!) and their graduation(LOL, they can finally wear beret). But I think I am gonna be more worried about juggling both duty commander and guard commander duty this saturday.. Damn I am gonna be so shacked.

Well... all I can say is "Good luck to me!"

Rejection

Haha... Really did not have time to update my blog on the usual sunday, me and wq went to wen ting house to attend her sister's birthday. Haha, it was kind of awkward as we did not knew most of the people there but we were able to make a few new friends. Plus, wen ting was so nice to keep us company even though she had a lot of things to do that day. Well we stayed there for quite some time even though I had to book in that day. But luckily for me, I was able to reach camp 30 mins early... HAHA...

Anyway, I kind of got rejected by NUS FASS... got the rejection letter just before the day we crossed a river. So yeah, my pc noticed something wrong with me, so he made me became "checker" instead. Just check their lifejackets, carabinas and all that stuff etc...

Yeah, I was quite depress, but I was able to cheer up by going out with my mom and sis. We bought damn nice new wall clocks and then, we went shopping at marina. HAHA.. i got S and K jeans for $12!! Then we went to Fish and Co. for dinner... Haha... the both of them suck at eating, I had to finish their share at the end of the day... Haha

Well, yeah, I realized there is not a point in being depressed... hey for all I know, I may suck badly when i go to NUS....LOL. Right now, I think I am just gonna get some new games like Metal Gear Solid 4!! WOOHOO!!
