Thailand June 08

Hey!! I am back from Thailand and I got to admit it, it was one helluva trip. Haha.. well as you can see.. I don't really have much photos, most of them were taken by wq, wt and pat (hint: pls send them asap). BUT.... I do have videos!! Haha.. The videos crack me up every single time I watch it.. Haha

Okay, the video show our first room, lol wq didnt like it so we changed to another room. LOL. For 20 bucks a night, I am not really complaining

Haha... This was the time we entered the grand palace. Wting and pat stubbornly wore shorts even though we were told not to. So they had to wear like this traditional sarongs... LOL In turn, it was actually quite nice, something different you know? Anyway, I had a good laugh then.

I took this video when we were walking around Chatuchat (Weekend Market). They were selling crocodile heads(not sure whether they were real or not). But then, nearby.... There were people selling fried insects, maggots and all those gross stuff, I was tempted to try, but I didnt know if they were halal. HAHA

Haha... So sorry for the late post... Got some technical issues with the videos. Even now, I dunno whether they work... LOL...

Games, Games, Games Galore!!!

Here are the games that I bought this month:

Conan R1 $50
Devil May Cry 4 R1 $55
Grand Theft Auto 4 R2 $60
Bourne Conspiracy R1 $72
Metal Gear Solid 4 R1 $98

Total $335

Freak!!! I spent almost half of my pay on games this month. Plus, I will be going bangkok this saturday!?! I have spent by far, the most this month. Hmm... maybe because I am just depressed... It's okay, gotta look on the bright side, yeah? Thankfully, finding buyers for games aren't that difficult since u don't really need a warranty and games usually don't have any maintenance issues. So yeah, most probably I will sell most of my games once I come back from bangkok.

Anyway, really looking forward to bangkok because it will be my very first official trip with tcsss. Hahaha, it's like chalet all over again, but with a lot of shopping :) and sightseeing, and don't forget the massages. Really excited coz the things there are supposedly really cheap. I hope I get to find a new bag, watch and some new clothes. Really looking forward to it. I will update some photos as soon as I get back next wednesday....

In the meantime... Bon Voyage....

Pre-Summex Thoughts

Oh my god! Tomorrow is SUMMEX! FYI, summex is just a codename for my 3 day 2 night field camp. There is gonna be 5 missions in the whole of summex. So i can predict we are not gonna have enough sleep. The only thing I can look forward to... is that I would be able to spend more time with the man in my section. They are really funny and easy to talk to. Some of them were from established jc with outstanding A level results while some dun even have o level cert. And I realized these people are not any different from us... They want the same things in life and they are not really stupid... just that some of them just fall out due to their own unique problems.

Anyway, I will be coming back camp this friday. This saturday will be the end of training wing(It's about damn bloody time!) and their graduation(LOL, they can finally wear beret). But I think I am gonna be more worried about juggling both duty commander and guard commander duty this saturday.. Damn I am gonna be so shacked.

Well... all I can say is "Good luck to me!"

Rejection

Haha... Really did not have time to update my blog on the usual sunday, me and wq went to wen ting house to attend her sister's birthday. Haha, it was kind of awkward as we did not knew most of the people there but we were able to make a few new friends. Plus, wen ting was so nice to keep us company even though she had a lot of things to do that day. Well we stayed there for quite some time even though I had to book in that day. But luckily for me, I was able to reach camp 30 mins early... HAHA...

Anyway, I kind of got rejected by NUS FASS... got the rejection letter just before the day we crossed a river. So yeah, my pc noticed something wrong with me, so he made me became "checker" instead. Just check their lifejackets, carabinas and all that stuff etc...

Yeah, I was quite depress, but I was able to cheer up by going out with my mom and sis. We bought damn nice new wall clocks and then, we went shopping at marina. HAHA.. i got S and K jeans for $12!! Then we went to Fish and Co. for dinner... Haha... the both of them suck at eating, I had to finish their share at the end of the day... Haha

Well, yeah, I realized there is not a point in being depressed... hey for all I know, I may suck badly when i go to NUS....LOL. Right now, I think I am just gonna get some new games like Metal Gear Solid 4!! WOOHOO!!

Cashflow

Last saturday, rehanah invited me and wei quan to a programme. Well, actually it was more like a game. The both of us were made to sit down and play a board game called cashflow. I was a bit skeptical at first but after playing for awhile, I learned how relevant it was to our daily life. It teaches us how money works and where does it all usually go. Suddenly, on that day, I developed a deep interest in business...LOL.

Anyway, I had a great time meeting new people, catching up with my old jc friend, reh, and had fun playing the game.

Well, made a few updates this week, more notably at the sides. Added in a checklist and wishlist. The protege r500 is really cool lar.... It weighs damn light, great power and long battery life. Only problem is I am in NS........

Toshiba Protege R500

Haizz.... still have not gotten a reply from NUS FASS.

NUS FASS Interview

Finally got my new keyboard... FYI, my previous keyboard wasn't working properly so I called Microsoft and guess what?? They replaced me with a brand new keyboard sent straight to my house via FedEx for FREE!! Now that's what I call service..

Anyway.. the time right now is 1 am in the morning and I can't seem to get some sleep. Maybe it was because of the cup of coffee i drank with wei quan this afternoon. Tangs had a sale and wq needed to buy a pair of shoes for his work, so i tagged along. Really sorry to wq for not buying anything, but seriously, I just dun have the mood.

So yar... I was surfing the net and chanced upon some forums... They were talking abt their nus fass interview they just had... If u guys did not know, I had an NUS interview for FASS last Thursday. How did it went? I dunno? My mind was blank half of the time. So I am really nervous. So when I read the forums, (here is the link if u guys have the time to read) If you don't, well let me summarize: From what I read, there were alot of ppl going for the interview since this, wasn't the only forum i bumped into. People were saying there will be 2nd rounds and some people even say they have already been accepted into the course.(Which made it worse for my nerves and sleep)

People were worried and some desperate, which made me think... Why the hell do FASS have interviews in the first place? I mean it should be one of the easier courses to get into?? isn't it? Time is flowing past very quickly as easier courses in the past have become very competitive. Which is why I am still up late at night.... blogging... thinking... reflecting...

I know.. I know... Being worried and anxious is pointless once the interview is over but still.. I just can't help feeling so. My mind is constantly searching for answers, my body feeling numb from the sudden coldness, my eyes ever so alive, my heart still racing... How am I suppose to sleep?

Can't help feeling worried...
Can't help feeling scared...
What will happen to me?
Oh, please god, give to me this opportunity of a lifetime...
I pray to you...

Neighbors

Today, my mom was minding her own business at home when she suddenly heard an irritating screeching sound. So, she opened the door to find out that our little boy neighbor was dragging a fan outside our house. She told the boy nicely...

Mom: Ehhh... Dun drag the fan like that.... Its making a lot of noise. If you want to move it, at least carry it.

The boy suddenly dropped the fan and just started shouting at his sister in a different language. Then the next thing i knew, I heard shouting outside my door. It was the boy's mom scolding, shouting and cursing vulgarities in front of my mom.

Neighbor: WHY!! Did u scold my son??? What right do u have to tell him what to do or what not to do?? U #@%* %@!...

At that time, I was like damn bloody pissed off and wanted to scold her back. Luckily, my dad got irritated by the noise and confronted her... She was still ranting and cursing in front of all of us... My dad calmly asked the boy...

Dad: What did my wife say to u?
Neighbor: She scolded my child!
Dad: I am asking the boy, what did my wife say to u? Did she scold u?
Boy: No... she ask me to stop dragging the fan.
Neighbor: Of course he would say that, thats becuz he is scared of u..

By that time, her ranting died down... and as she left, a string of vulgarities followed.

That night, when our neighbor's husband returned home. We heard loud shoutings in their home. 5 mins later, her husband came ringing on our door. As soon as my dad opened the door, the husband started scolding vulgarities.

Husband: U kepala buto. What is this?? I just came back from work only to hear somebody grabbed my boy by the shirt and slapped him.. U CB.

I went down to look at what was the commotion about and saw our neighbor's husband. I just only looked at him then he looked at me and then he started shouting at my dad.

Husband: Is that your son? Now, he want to get involved in this?? He look at me like he not happy....

I was like "WTF?!?" I just came to see what the commotion was about and he suddenly like want to find trouble with me. In my mind, I was like saying "bring it on!". But my dad calmly told them that he never heard of my mom doing such things until now. He explained that my mom was only advising the boy.. And that it was his and my moms mistake to bother other ppl's child.

That night my mom got a long nagging session from me and my dad. After that night, I realized how egoistical our neighbors were. Shouting like nobody's business thinking we scared of them. To think they even dare to scold vulgarities in front of their own children. Now I understood y the previous owner of our house was quite in a rush to sell our house.

Well, I guess our home isn't that perfect after all...
